Dear Holy Family College Parents, Guardians and Learners,
Welcome to another exciting school year at Holy Family College! We consider ourselves a family, and we are excited to welcome you and all our learners to Holy Family College.
We look forward to engaging and building a positive relationship with you that supports academic success and social growth.
Thank you, parents, for coming onto the campus to register your child prior to the start of the academic year. This enabled us to be better prepared for the academic year that has already started with teaching, learning and assessments already taking place across the school.
We have an amazing staff that is guided on the principle of doing what is best for our learners. We also welcome to our school all the new members of staff.
To stay informed of all that is taking place at the school, please visit our new website on a regular basis, and ensure you get our weekly newsletter that is emailed to you over each weekend of the term.
We are excited with our new project that started this year – boarding house facility for girls. Our girls have settled in well and under the care of Ms Reinecke and Ms Shozi they are in good hands and well cared for. We still have space, should you want this option for your girl child and have also received requests from parents if they can try the boarding facility with various options/ packages. If you are interested, please contact me directly so I can discuss this with you.
PARENT INFO MORNING
After a long period, due to the pandemic, we are planning to host a Parent Information Morning again this year. More details will follow, but in the meantime, please save the date: 5 February 2022 @ 09h00. We look forward to meeting you and having a well-deserved open-air braai in our gardens, (weather permitting).
My door is always open. Please feel free to call or email to book an appointment to discuss any concerns you might encounter throughout the school year. We look forward to working with you and helping each learner at Holy Family College meet their goals and have a successful school year!

We will continue with our vaccination drive again this year. Every Friday we will take a group of learners, who have consent from their parents, to visit the TARA Hospital Vaccination site to get vaccinated. This will enable our school community to be safe for all. Thank you to all parents who have already given consent. Last year we had 112 learners receive their vaccination through this initiative. We look forward to many more receiving their vaccinations.
The uniform shop continues to be opened every day until the end of this month, for any learner or parent wanting to procure school uniform items. Please ensure you have all the uniform requirements for your child.
Holy Family College is a digital school and all learners from grades 7 -12 are expected to have a laptop to work on. Access to the learning portals will be set up soon by educators and work sent to each subject digital class. Cell phones are not allowed as a learning tool for class. Educators will advise what days learners are to bring their devices to school. Each learner is provided with their unique password and email address to access our network.
Our extra-curricular programme will begin next week. Learners are expected to have their practice kits with them every sport day. Please see Code of Conduct for sports uniform requirements. We will begin the year with Athletics trials for all learners. Please bring running shoes next week to school.
Celebrating the Eucharist as a family
Today we celebrated Mass together as a whole school. Our celebrant Fr Alex from the Holy Trinity Parish in Braamfontein joined us for our first mass of the year. On Monday he also celebrated the eucharist in the school chapel as we welcomed all our educators back for the academic year.
